I am searching for discrete power on & off codes for the following:

DVD: Marantz DV4300 (the one posted on the Marantz download site doesn't work!)

VCR: Mitsubishi HS-U50

Any help would be appreciated...

Have ou tried these commands?

On

5001 0000 0000 0002 0004 000c 0001 0000

Off
5001 0000 0000 0002 0004 000c 0002 0000

You'll need to post the power toggle for you VCR to come up with a discrete power command.

Many DVD/s and VCR's will turn on from Off withthe Play button, hacve you tried that?

Mystery! I tried all the codes in both threads above and they did not work. What is strange, the RC3200 setup program modifies the codes!

As an example, the VCR ON code from Kam G was changed slightly to:
0000 0081 0000 0011 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 0046 000A 001E 000A 001E 000A 033A

While jarmstrong's On code was changed to:

0000 0072 0000 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 009F 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 009F 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040

Any idea why?

In any case, jarmstrong, my power toggle codes are:

DVD DV4300:
0000 0072 0000 0025 0060 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0060 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0020 0010 0014

VCR HS-U50:
0000 007E 0000 0011 0009 0047 0009 0047 0009 0047 0009 001F 0009 0047 0009 001F 0009 0047 0009 001F 0009 001F 0009 0047 0009 001F 0009 001F 0009 001F 0009 001F 0009 001F 0009 001F 0009 0376

Any other thoughts?

i hate to tell you this but rc 3200 remote sucks! i spend a little time on that, this remote don't take most of the codes. as you know this this remote's default file has all the marantz codes, if those don't work what else can? i would say get a 5200 or if you wanaa spens that much get a pronto.

According to the Marantz DV 4300 codes on the Marantz website, Kam is correct. It is RC6 and his codes are correct:

On
6000 0000 0000 0001 0029 00c9
Off
6000 0000 0000 0001 0029 00ca

Also, the decoding your toggle for the Mitsubishi VCR would indicate that Kam's discrete On and Off codes are correct. (same device code)

In decoding what you remote changed on those VCR codes they are trivial differences and should work.

In decoding your DVD power toggle, there must be some characters missing because it does not seem to match the website or RC6 unless I made a logic error. Could you repost that.

You can buy a One-For-All remote and buy or build a JP1 cable for between ~$30 to ~$50 total and it can do both of those commands. It may be that the Mitsubishi VCR does not respond to discrete commands.

Did you try the Play command from Off?

Jon,

Thanks for the reply. I have "re-learned" the DVD power toggle codes with the following results:

0000 0072 0000 0025 0060 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0060 0020 0010 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0020 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010 0020 0010 0010

Looks similar to what I posted previously, except for the last code!

With respect to the VCR power, I have tried using the Play button (and all others), none turn the VCR on. It is a fairly dated unit and may not support separate codes for On and off.

If you have any other suggestions, let me know.... Thanks in advance.

pete
