I was wondering if there is a discrete on remote command for the Denon avr 4520Ci, that just turns on the "Main" zone? I have a toggle on/off just for the main, but the discrete on i have for my Harmony remote turns on all zones.

For this one you don't need a cable.  On your URC-8820N, assign setup code 1360 to Audio, and then assign Main On = 01956 to some button.  Main Off is 01982.

Once setup code 1360 is assigned
1) Press Setup until 2 blinks
2) Enter 994
3) Tap Setup
4) Enter 01956
5) Press (e.g. PIP)
The remote should blink twice.  Now when you press PIP, the Main On signal will be sent.

I used IrMaster to find that the Pronto Hex is Denon device 2, functions 121  and 122.  The Lookup Tool tool tells us that the URC-8820N has Denon Combo (official) protocol on Audio 1360, and I used RemoteMaster to get the corrresponding 5 digit EFCs.

I would assume that I can use the same discrete off which I think I am using now, which probably turns them all off? I am only using zone 2 as a headphone out for the same room and so if only zone 1 is turned on the other one shouold take care of it as well as if both were on listening to headphones?

That worked great, thanks.....I am going to use Main on for the Harmony on, and All off for the off, that way I will be sure everything is turned off at the end.

Is there an all for one code for the "All on" code, since I overwrote it with the Main on code on my Harmony, so that it would work each activity properly and just turn on the Main.

This way I can add a "Poweronall" and "Poweroff Main" commands to the Harmony Denon device page.

Thanks again.

Will these work directly in a Pronto Pro or are they for Harmony remote only ?

Still got a pronto pro and need On and OFF commands to shut the 4520 off with a macro...

Both are valid denon codes. It's likely pronto hex based on its format. They should work with any remote that accepts hex code.
