Hello from a newbie. I am just getting started with a Pronto TSU3000 I picked up on Ebay, and need a little help.

I have a Sanyo VWM-700 VCR, and was wondering if there is any discrete power codes for this device?

Thanks in advance...

Well, I didn't see any obvious signs of discrete codes... but then I note in this file [Link: files.remotecentral.com] it seems to list them as a possibility for at least that model.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, they don't seem to work for my VCR. I will play around with them, and see if I can make any progress...

If you can, post the Pronto hex to your VCR's standard power command.

Thank you so much for your help.

Here is the HEX for the Power Toggle...

0000 006d 0024 0000 0155 00ab 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 05eb 0155 0056 0016 0000

That's actually a bad learn (note how it ends in "0000"), but see if this does anything:

0000 006d 0022 0002 0156 00aa 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 003f 0016 0016 0016 0694 0156 0055 0016 0e3f

Thank you for the help. That code didn't seem to do anything. I did only try to change the state of power, but it didn't appear to do anything. I did try on and off

The TSU3000 suffers from a 'timing' issue when connected to the PC, or at least that's what the consensus of opinion is.
Try learning with the 3000 whilst it's not connected to the PC.
Also, on the subject of Discrete codes for the VCR, they may not exist, the Only VCR I know of that has working Discrete Power commands is the Panasonic.

Well, if that code doesn't work then either your model uses completely different code mapping and you will need to hunt for discretes on your own by using tools such as MakeHex... or it simply doesn't have them.

As for other brands of VCRs, Sony and JVC had full discrete codes regularly.

Daniel, the Pronto Hex you posted is NEC1 device 49.0 function 160.  Power toggle should be NEC1 device 49 (or equivalently 49.206) function 91.  That's completely standard for these Sanyo VCRs, and the learn posted by 98CarmineRedTN decodes as that-- only the ditto part is incorrect.  Here's Power toggle with the ditto part rendered correctly:
0000 006C 0022 0002 015B 00AD 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 05F7 015B 0057 0016 0E6C

If the intent was to try NEC 1 device 49, function 160, then:
0000 006C 0022 0002 015B 00AD 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 05F7 015B 0057 0016 0E6C

There probably isn't any discrete code for power in this VCR.  But you can search for it, using various function numbers with device 49.  I recommend IrMaster instead of MakeHex, because IrMaster can both encode and decode Pronto Hex, and has a bigger library of IR protocols.  It is under active development.  In this case, after rendering the Pronto Hex, the decode could be immediately checked to see that the parameters were entered correctly

Yeah, my mistake - dropdown went on the wrong selection.

160 is Power Off for a Sanyo projector and a couple other Sanyo products I found (and 161 power on). 204 was listed in the earlier file as power off for another model VCR.

So, if there ARE codes, it might be necessary to test the entire device 49.
