Hi,

I have to swap out a samsung blu ray player and was wondering if the ir codes are the same as samsung dvd players. It is part of a crestron system so was curious if the remote would have to be re-programmed.

Thanks

I don't think so. Every brand I've seen has separate codes for Blu-rays.

Do you have access to RTI codes? You'll find DVD and Blu-ray players there, and you can get into edit more and see the hex versions of the commands to see if any match up.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Most Samsung DVD players use the Aiwa IR protocol, which is very similar to NEC, except it is 42 bits instead of 32.

All Samsung Blu-Ray players use the Samsung36 IR protocol, which is 36 bits.

Of course the two codesets are completely different.
