Is the Onkyo BluRay player BD-SP309 a TOAD? Cannot find and codes that will work. In addition the Play button will not turn it on. I tried every code in the Onkyo list. I use the URC complete control dealer program.

It is very unlikley to be a TOAD. Here are the usual discretes for Onkyo Bluray players:

Power On NEC1-f16 210.31 function 0.153
0000 006c 0022 0002 0156 00ac 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0020 066F 0156 0056 0020 0E54

Standby NEC1-f16 210.31 0.140
0000 006c 0022 0002 0156 00ac 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0020 069A 0156 0056 0020 0E54

NEC!-f16 means a signal with NEC1 framing, but the the 3rd and 4th bytes are not binary complements of each other, as they would be with ordinary NEC1 signals.

You can decode this sort of IR signal using IRTool, IRScope, etc with the 2.43 version of DecodeIR.dll

They do not seem to work. I am using URC CCP program with mx-880. The on/off codes listed for Onkyo BluRay do not work. I copied and pasted the hex code you listed here in the universal browser and dragged the code over to the on off buttons and still will not work. It must be a TOAD, very disapointed with Onkyo.

Sorry for incompetence, but what mean TOAD (for player)? :))

And my search of working on/off codes failed also.

The Main Page of this forum gives you your answer:

Welcome to Discrete Code Hunter, the forum that can help you locate potential discrete IR codes for your audio/video devices. Such codes only perform one function - such as "power on" or "input 3" - rather than regular toggle codes that alternate between two or more functions, making macros unreliable. Is your device a TOAD (Toggle Only Actuated Device) or a DUDE (Device Utilizing Discrete Extensions)? Find out here!

Unusual for Onkyo not to implement Discrete power commands, I take it all the other codes work, it's just the Discrete Power that don't ?
