Hi Jason, I'm working onto a project controlling a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE632U. As far as I know the Energy Management System is moot when controlling by IR as this just turns off the RS232 port when going off.

Anyway, I'm looking for a discrete to go to the HDMI 1 input. The owners manual shows the back of the TV with all the inputs and each input has a small circled number next to it. Someone told me the circled number corresponds to the input number for RS232 commands.

According to the circled numbers HDMI 1-4 would correspond to inputs 1-4, component to input 5, Video 1 to input 6, Video 2 to input 7 and computer to input 8.

Therefore, the RS232 command to go to HDMI 1 would be IAVD1 \x0D, the command to go to Video 1 would be IAVD6 \x0D

Is this the same for the IR discrete codes listed? In other words, if I want to go to HDMI 1 input do I use discrete Video 1? For Component discrete Video 5? etc?

That is how it works for other models but the strange thing is that most Sharp TV codes that I've seen start with composite or component (input 1, 2, 3 for example) then the HDMI inputs start (input 4, 5, etc) where as the LC-60LE632U is the opposite. I guess you will just have to try them first.

Jason, do u have all the hex codes for Sharp Aquos or know where they are? and not just the discretes? My customer having difficulty sending the remote. Have looked through the site and not quite sure which codes to use and was hoping u could point me in right direction.

Many thanks in advance!

Try these standard codes and these discretes. If those discretes don't work try these.

Thanks Jason. BTW, I learned something that I want to share....if u look at the picture of the inputs in the user's guide you will see each input has a small circled number next to it. Its those circled numbers that correspond to the discretes found in this forum. So, input 1 is HDMI 1 and input 2 is HDMI 2 and input 5 is component and input 6 video 1 etc. I was able to verify on a newer model Aquos a few weeks back. I believe the older Aquos don't have the circled numbers so they behave as u stated i.e. HDMI inputs starting on input 4 or 5 etc. In fact, I recall now on a project I did awhile back using older model Aquos that input 5 corresponded to HDMI 2.

Sorry to get off track as far as my question was concerned. Thank u so much for pointing me in the right direction. I will use those codes and send system out with confidence. Don't need the remote. Jason, thanks, again, for responding!
