Working on a huge project with multiple TVs. Most are Sharp LC-52LE830UN, and the LC-70LE732UN. The rest are SONY. For some reason, the discrete power on and off were not working for the 3 TV's that were LC-42D69U. So I collected about 9 sets of codes from everywhere possible - this board, RTI library, URC library, etc. 9 sets of power on and off codes - and NONE worked. I cant figure out why this model is not accepting any. I used to have issues with Sharp a long time ago and thought the problems were over.

Does anyone out there work with or own this model? I am not sure what to do at this point - for the nature of this job discrete codes are vital and there is no chance for sensing equpment or any other way to deal with it. If anyone has any information on why this would happen or best case can vouch for codes that work I would be forever grateful. Very confusing problem.

Are the standard codes the same as the other TV's?

Is there a Power Save or Energy Save Mode that needs to be turned off?

Have you tried contacting Sharp?

As far as I know Sharp On & Off codes have always been the same.

havent been able to get through to SHARP, but a friend of mine did and they mailed him a list of commands and hex codes. Strangely, the Power command was not discrete. I will look at some of those settings, not too familair with SHARP for good reason. Thanks Jason.

Hi Jason, I'm working onto a project controlling a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE632U. As far as I know the Energy Management System is moot when controlling by IR as this just turns off the RS232 port when going off.

Anyway, I'm looking for a discrete to go to the HDMI 1 input. The owners manual shows the back of the TV with all the inputs and each input has a small circled number next to it. Someone told me the circled number corresponds to the input number for RS232 commands.

According to the circled numbers HDMI 1-4 would correspond to inputs 1-4, component to input 5, Video 1 to input 6, Video 2 to input 7 and computer to input 8.

Therefore, the RS232 command to go to HDMI 1 would be IAVD1 \x0D, the command to go to Video 1 would be IAVD6 \x0D

Is this the same for the IR discrete codes listed? In other words, if I want to go to HDMI 1 input do I use discrete Video 1? For Component discrete Video 5? etc?

Claude,
it makes sense that a manufacturer would create one numbered list of inputs and assign them to different things, rather than one list for IR and a different list for 232. So I say, yeah, go for the same input number.

If you want answers to questions, though, it's best to start your own thread when your subject doesn't match the thread you're looking at. In this case, people interested in NOT your TV will be here, and people with an interest in your model will have no idea that you're asking something they might know. You can post, which means you can start a thread.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
