Does anyone have discrete on , discrete off commands for Sony CDp455 mega changer? I know there are codes for previous models but I can't seem to get them to work on the newer model. (all 3 sets of codes)

Thanks

Sony CD's have three different command sets. Are you saying that you tried the discrete power commands for all three command sets and they didn't work?

If not what commands have you tried, where did you get them, what remote are you trying to program.

I have tried all three Sony CD codes for on and off and I can't believe it does not work. (Sony.... you didn't drop discretes did you?) Anyone with a CDPCX 455 try these codes and report please.

I'm in the same boat.

I have also tried using the complete list of discrete codes for the 400 stack Sony CD players on all 3 commands and I can't get the discretes to work. Toggle commands work no problem, just can't get the discretes.

I have no idea either.

I'm in Australia and I think that model has only been released here, so maybe the rest of the world may not have this problem.

I just can't work out why the toggle command will work but the discretes won't.

I didn't know if Sony could help us out but if you do find a way, I would love to know.

Scooper and Scott,

Why don't you both post the Pronto hex for your power toggle commands and I'll make sure that Sony isn't using a different device number.

Thanks for trying to help us out. Below are listed the codes that I'm using. I've got the 3 sets of discrete codes and basically all of them work in the 3 modes apart from the discrete on and discrete off.

Toggle Code On / Off Cmd-1 (Works fine)
0000 0067 0000 000d 0060 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 03f5

Discrete Code On Cmd-1 (Doesn’t work)
0000 0067 0000 000d 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 03f5

Scott,

Unfortunately, your commands should be work (meaning those discrete commands are correctly strucured and on the correct device codes/protocols).

Some DVD's, CD's and VCR's will turn On from Off using the Play command. If so, a macro Play/Stop=On and Play/Power Toggle is Off.

You might also go to the Nirvis sLinke discussion group [Link: groups.yahoo.com]. They are really into controlling Sony CD Jukeboxes and may know something more.

Sorry, I can't be more encouraging but if you do ever solve the problem please let us know.

To all in this thread, I posted this in a different thread in this forum a while back and no one answered or was able to help. So here are the serial strings to send to a Sony CIS converter box again. I got these from Sony Engineering, however I do not have the proper equipment to convert the code.

I don't know if any other codes exist ie: shuffle, continue...

/x: represents the byte as hexadecimal within a Crestron system.

/x80 /x06 /x01 /x00 /x45 /x11 /xF0 (discrete on)

/x80 /x06 /x01 /x00 /x45 /x12 /xF0 (discrete off)

If this doesn't work try substituting /x45 with /x44

Please re-post if anyone can do anything with these...

Thanks again

Brad S.
