I have a Comcast(red button) remote. It works fine with most of the stuff, but I am having issues with somethings and hope someone here can help!

1. Yamaha HTR-3063....all I care to work is the on/off function and volume. Volume works, but I had to use advanced code for on/off and all it will do is turn on, OR off. I cant get it to do both.

2. Samsung HT-P38. All I care for remote to do is turn it on/off, and volume. I cant find a way to make it do anything!

3. Hisense LCD TV TL-3220. All I care for remote to do is on/off.

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated. I did notice that my remotes have a JP1 socket, is that my only choice...and will that even work?

The Comcast does not provide a Power Toggle signal to the HTR 3063, because it can't send device 126. It can't control the Samsung at all. I don't know about the Hisense.

A cable will work, and it is pretty easy. That's the way I program my Comcast remotes. Or, you could buy a $15-20 RCA RCRP)5B. It can control most of the Yamaha functions, and all of the Samsung. Again I haven't really tried to see about the Hisense,

Using JP1 is pretty easy, and help and software is available at hifi-remote.com/forums. I recommend the JP1.3 cable made by Tommy Tyler.   Illustrated how-to guide
