Anyone got discrete for Sony CDP-CE500? On site and I need to try and get something better than the toggle. Can't seem to work around it either, "Play" doesn't turn it on.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You don't say what you've already tried. Anyway, this set is typical for Sony CD.
Protocol=Sony12 Device=17
Device Code: 17 Function: 46 ON
0000 0068 0000 000D 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 03D4
Device Code: 17 Function: 47 OFF
0000 0068 0000 000D 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 03BC

Some of the newer equipment is using 15 bit instead of 12 bit protocols.
Device Code: 17 Function: 46 ON

So I assume you are using a URC system, which is not what I typically use, but in this case have you thought of using variables to track the power status or as another option, does the audio receiver that it is playing through have a switched outlet on the back that you could plug into to keep it in sync?

Nearly all Sony equipment does have discrete On and Off, with function numbers 46 and 47. However, the device numbers can vary. The CDP-CE500 may use device numbers different than sent by the URC setup codes. Are you able to control any functions? If you or someone is able to convert the URC code number to a device number, then we can generate Pronto Hex that "should" work.

Of course, this is the lowest price player Sony sells. It is possible that it is re-branded equipment made by somebody else.

I just ran into the same problem. I noticed the huge shutoff window. If you send a power toggle then a 1 second delay then another power toggle it will be off every time. Then a 5 second delay followed by a third power toggle, and it will be on every time.
Better is the nemesis of good.
