Hello,

I've been scouring the site for hours looking for remote codes for a Akai CFTD2011 TV/DVD Combo. The original remote control model was the WIR350001-EQ01.

My last roommate dunked the remote in hot-sauce, rendering it mostly useless. I was able to use my psp with irshell to 'learn' some of the commands -- which did work, proving that it was indeed infrared -- but I ended up losing the file (and the remote) in the end.

There are apparently no other compatible models (remote nor tv) according to google, fixya, and you guys. I would be eternally grateful if you could help me out. Preferably I'd like controls in the RDF or discrete format.

Thank you :) FYI, any response would be nice. Even if it's "you're screwed". Is this forum still active?

Here's the service manual.  Looks like it is really made by Eastech.

The product has no reference to "eastech" on it. I think the Eastech manual you put on there is actually a monitor with the same model number.

Regardless, no hex codes. :( Anyone else got any help?

The manual title is for a LCD TV/DVD, the block diagrams show a DVD, and the exploded drawing on the last page shows the physical location of the DVD. You could look at the last page and pretty quickly determine if it is the same as yours based on the drawing of the shell.

If it is, you might want to contact Eastech, and see if they can tell you the codes.

It is nearly certain to be NEC1 IR protocol, and if you want to spend time experimenting, I can suggest sets of Hex codes that other Akai units use, as well as some hex for Norcent, which is using the same controller chip (but not necessarily the same IR codes.)

Thanks, I'm really a virgin in the ways of infrared. :)

Yeah, I'd like that. Send some my way on this thread, that way maybe someone else who is having this problem can use that information.

First of all check out this thread, and see if you can identify your remote in the pictures.

If not, here are a few Power codes to try, in order of likelihood.

Sadly, my remote isn't on that list (those are all of the newer models I think). Mine looks like this:

Also, I tried using all of the codes... once again, sadly, none work.

What blows is you can't even get a replacement remote - and when you do manage to find someone who is willing to sell theirs off, they're over $40.

Well, those were the best possibilities. Any chance you can find the irshell file or even just a small part of it? If we can get just one function, then it will be easy to guess the rest.

Nah, Irshell comes with a bunch of preset ones that are mostly modern remotes. The one that I put together is long gone, sadly.
