Just tried to install a 55TL515 yesterday, and the discrete commands that have been in the URC database for years, and that have always worked on every Toshiba TV we ever dealt with, no longer seem to work. And I had zero luck attempting to teach a MX880z its commands from its original remote.

You can learn the discrete's from the original remote.

Page 89 of the Manual states;

Operating the TV with combination buttons.
You can directly operate the TV power, input switch, picture size switch, and picture mode switch by pressing a combination button while holding down a color button.

Hey thanks - but I knew that info already.

My problem is that I cannot teach the original Tosh remote's commands to a URC MX880z, for whatever reason. Have tried close, have tried far, each time URC learning tool shows a successful capture each time.

Which I'm only having to do because the Tosh "2006 Discrete Functions" (or something like that) out of the URC IR database aren't working either on this TV (except for discrete on and off). Nor can I find an IR command set for any Tosh TV that operates the 55TL515.

The fact that the discrete on and off works saves quite a few troubleshooting steps, as it eliminates the MRZ260, the IR wiring, and TL515's IR jack as possible problems, yes?

I'd love to hear from anyone who has worked with these new Toshiba TV's.
