I am looking for discreet hex Power ON/OFF commands for the Pioneer VSX 520 receiver. I have tried everything I can find including the files on pioneers website and none of them work. The power toggle works and I have found the commands for the inputs but no power... Thanks in advance.

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far. |

I wonder if these discretes worked for Mark. It would be nice to know.

I just did a VSX-920 yesterday and the discretes as downloaded from the CI portion of pioneers support site do not work natively for RTI. I changed the repeat value to 6 and they worked fine. When tested without the repeat set to 6 they would work fine on a VSX-32 though.

Just for my education, what is the default repeat setting for RTI?

I don't think there is a default. Sometimes when I learn them in, it will have a repeat of 1, sometimes 2, and sometimes 0 but most often is 1. This only really applies to IR commands placed in macros since when a single command is placed on a key it will repeat until the button is released unless you uncheck the sustain box.
NSP01, IIRC don't you work for or contract with Pioneer? Is there a different IR receiver or chip in the 520, 820, and 920 compared to the 1020, 1120 and elite models? The commands I have used for years seem to work fine on the higher models but require a longer blast duration for even input commands on the 520, 820, and 920. I only use RTI for control if that makes a difference.
