It's funny I spent all day looking for these codes. If you have a Pronto go to www.pronto.philips.com go to downloads and then look for Discrete input codes on the bottom of the page. If you notice the posted date was nov. 28th 2002 (not too long ago). But if you do not have a pronto good luck finding anyone at Phillips who knows what a discrete code is.....
Good luck

@Danabbht

That's the way I did it yesterday! But in the evening I tested the archive file posted on the Philips homepage and found, that in contains only a few discrete codes for newer models (=models built in 2002 or later). Ma model, a 32PW9525 is built in 2001.
Furthermore, there are only some 4 or 5 codes in this file but none of those I need...

Any other ideas?
Thx!

Actually it looks like a good find!

If you open that file as a TSU-1000 you don't see many commands. I opened it with Pronto Edit 4.0 as an RU-970 and here are the discrete Power, Input and Aspect ratio commands that it contained. In two devices it looks like AV1 uses a macro and apparently does not have a true discrete command.

Although I know the RC5 protocol and the Pronto hex encoding scheme very well, I don't have a Pronto so some one else might want to confirm the use of Macros is the way I have shown it, but everything else seems to be solid.

If you look through the inputs you will notice that they are fairly inconsistent in labels but the same device and command combinations keep coming up. This may be useful for people trying to find discrete input commands.

The device and command numbers are in decimal and for OFA remotes these can be used in creating Device Upgrades the commands are OBC's (not EFC's).

@Jon

Hi, Jon!

Thanks for your answer!
I'm sorry, but I must admit, that I do not understand too much of this highly technical informations (such as OFA, EFC, OBC....) I am a simple user hoping to find a way to put some code into my ProntoPro and ... that's it ;-))

Now, what can I do with your information? Let's say for example: I'd like to have a button on my Pront to directly select a 16:9 picturte format! Does this mean, I will simply have to put your mentioned code "5000 0000 0000 0001 0003 003E" into the "IR-code"-section of the "Add IR"-window in ProntoEdit? What does "Dev=3 Command=062" mean? Where do I have to put this information? Do I have to alter some of the check-boxes in the "Advanced"-window (such as RC5, RC6....)?

Whole lot of stupid questions... Thanks a lot for your patience!

Siemai,

Actually I don't think that you have to do anything. You might just try loading the ccf file into the Pronto Pro and try out all of the commands. They are all for a TV or video device. If some work, then you can probably delete the ones that don't and merge into the rest of your Pronto file. But my knowledge of the actual use of a Pronto is very limited. Hopefully someone else will give a better answer.

As I said earlier I do understand the RC5 protocol and the Pronto IR encoding scheme, but not all the tricks of using them in a Pronto.

If you were to use these commands in a Pronto, for example, you would only paste in "5000 0000 0000 0001 0000 000C" without the quotation marks for a Power toggle. The rest of the numbers were for people who use the One-For-All (OFA) remotes that are programmable and those Device and Command numbers mean something to them. They are just the decimal equivalent of the last two 2-byte hex words (0000 000C) device=0, command=12.

Hi,

I have the 36PW9525 and am also interested in these discrete codes, especially the EXT(AV) input selectors and display mode ones.

Haven't got my Pronto Pro yet, so it would be excellt if someone have tried and can confirm if those Philips 2002-model discretes also work on the older ##PW9525 line.

Merry christmas by the way :)

Hi!

Just tried the model 2002 discretes posted on Philips homepage with my model 2001 32PW9525. I did not find a single code acting in a better (= directly!) way as the buttons on the original TV-remote!
Neither the discrete buttons for inputs worked nor did those for picture formats.
