I have a NEC PXVM5A plasma and it was used in a food store for an advertising display. The main issue is its been programmed to the VGA input with all the on panel controls locked out and there is no remote for it. I can't switch the inputs or control anything else.

Is there anyone familiar with this that knows if I need some special software or is there any way I can force a "factory reset" of the internal systems to release the control buttons?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is the “INPUT SKIP” of “OPTION1” in the Menu set to Off?

Do have the manual?

Also could be,

CONTROL LOCK settings
ON: Disables the buttons on the front panel.
OFF: Enables the buttons on the front panel.
* Even when the CONTROL LOCK is set, the POWER
switch will not be locked.
* This becomes effective when the on-screen menu goes
out.

Your going to need a remote!
