After days of scouring the web to find discrete on/off codes for my samsung DVD player, I gave up and started programming codes 1-256 into my radio shack remote 10 at a time. I'd assign codes to the 0-9 buttons, and then test, and then move onto the next ten. NO LUCK. There does not appear to be a discrete on or off code for this unit. I suspected as much, given all the posts requesting help for samsung equipment.

Anyway, it's my understanding that the codes beyond 256 are duplicates of the ones below 256, so I didn't test them. If this is incorrect, can someone please let me know?

Art,

Have you tried the work around with the Play command. From Off most DVD's will turn on with the Play commands so On is Play|Stop and Off is Play|Power Toggle.
