Hi - hoping for some help. My NAD T743 receiver is no longer responding to the remote which is a HTR-2 supplied by NAD. The remote is working. i.e it can control the DVD player. ( Also the remote is brand new! and yes new batteries) The problem is that the only way to get to the OSD is via the remote. NAD agents are unresponsive to email and generally want me to bring the receiver in which I am unwilling to do. It could be that the infra red receiver in the front of the amp is faulty. usually when a button is pressed the power led on the amp changes colour but there is no response.

At the back of the receiver there are 3 IR jacks 1 input and 2 output. according to manual "These mini jacks accept and output remote-control codesin electrical format, using industry - standard protocols, for use with "I R Repeater" and multi room systems..."

So my question is "Is there some way of communicating to the receiver via the input IR jack ? and how to do this - what are the codes etc.
I am not very clued up with all this stuff and any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS i did manage to reset the receiver to default factory settings
