I posted this message over on the MX-700 forum but thought there could be someone in this forum that might be interested.

After a lot of help from this forum and over at the jp1 groups on Yahoo, I've got my MX-700 mostly done with most of my devices setup with at least power discretes. Of particular interest, I've seen people asking for files with discretes for the ReplayTV and for the Panasonic plasmas. I've got both done now and have submitted them to this site. Not sure if anyone is interested, but if you are, let me know and I can send you my device (MXD) files if you can't wait for them to be posted on the site. I have the following devices set up.

Hitachi RP HDTV (no discretes). Never could get any of the discretes to work with this set.

Panasonic TH42PWD5UY plasma with discrete power.

ReplayTV 4508 with discrete power.

Sony STR-DE885 receiver set to use legacy codes. Has discretes.

Panasonic DVD-RP91 with discretes.

Sony RP8078 CD Changer with discretes.

Let me know if anyone needs any of these.

The MXD for the Panny plasma is, as they say, in the mail. Hope you find it useful, Barry.

That 5 sec delay on the Panny plasma is very annoying, isn't it? I didn't do anything very elegant to get around it, I just put in delays in my macro and then I have to keep the remote pointed in the general direction until all the commands go through. I use the PC-IN first and then send the appropriate number of input signals to get it where I want it. Even then, I have to repeat the macro sometimes to get it to set right.

My MXF and MXD files for my MX-700 have been posted to the site by Daniel. You might want to download them from the site to get them now, tlins. Easier than e-mail. If you can't get them from the site for some reason, let me know and I'll send them to you.

Sorry, I don't have the individual discrete codes from my files, they are part of the complete MX-700 file and I don't know how to retrieve the individual commands from them to email them.

schultzkyo,

They are the same as the Panasonic TV's and HDTV's and they are posted in the discrete section.

That's right Jon. That's how I got the discrete power for my Panny plasma for my MX-700. I used the already available Panny TV IR database codes for the discrete power codes, then taught the rest of the commands from the original remote to my MX-700 (the IR database for the MX-700 didn't contain input codes and others for the plasma, only the discrete power worked). So basically what I'm saying is, the MX-700 file for the Panny plasma is really only useful to other MX-700 owners and not useful for other remote models.

Does anyone have the discrete "input" codes for the Panasonic plasma PT50PD3P, or a work around to get the correct input with an unknown starting point?
