Hopefully I am in the right forum.

I have a comcast 3 in 1 universal remote with the "red" button. I have given it a working code to control the tv. I can use most of it fine but I am not able to switch tv view modes (zoom, 3:4, full, just)if I can just get this last function I can put away the panasonic remote. Does anyone know what it is and how I can program it into the comcast remote?

I think it may be this aspect discrete code.

0000 0071 0000 0032 0080 0040 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010
0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010
0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030
0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010 0010
0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030
0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0030 0010 0010 0010 0A9D

But everything I know about the comcast remote tells me I must enter a 5 digit code. Can I convert this to a 5 digit code some how?

I would like to instruct the HD/Zoom button on the comcast remote to take over the function called format on the panasonic remote.

If you're using setup code TV 10250, then enter 60481 in the 994 keymove command.

Instructions for EFC keymoves are here: www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php

I am not using 10250 I am actually using 10650 perhaps this one is wrong but it is the one that allows me to use the OK/Select button in menus. I tried that code anyway and it did nothing that I could see. BTW where are you finding these codes?

Nothing wrong with 10650. But it is different and by my late night calculations the needed EFC is 09761.

Generic Panasonic IR codes are available here in the Files area in Pronto Hex format. Hifi-remote.com has upgrade listings for specific models, in the form of protocol, device numbers, and command numbers. I used programs that are available there to convert those into a EFC value.

Setup code 10650 and EFC 09761 translate to the Panasonic Mix Combo executor in UEI remotes. It is device 128.4, command number (OBC) 222.

Came across this from Google was looking to do the same thing using charter universal remote to change aspect button efc for my 720p Panasonic viera. The 994 reprogram with efc code 09761 worked perfectly. Sorry for the resurrection of an old post but I like finding solution to my specific issues so hopefully I may help a fellow newbs that may find this. Lost a remote for DVD and the charter remote wouldn't run the select button on DVD nor the right efc. Figured that out. Glad there's so much info out there on these codes. Not sure what else I need to try and control but thanks everyone for talking to time to generate these codes
