Can somebody help me locate IR codes for this JVC bluray player?
Or is it the only way to get it to work on an URC MX-980 is thru learning?

I'm looking for exactly the same thing. I was told the player was a rebadged Marantz player but nothing from Marantz work either.

If you have a Hex Code for the Power Toggle or others you can Post it will make it easier to help.
