Have two NS-LCD32-09 32" Insignia LCD TV's and am not able to find any discrete commands on the net. Specifically discrete power on/off and discrete input control. Found a few threads here but no answers. Tried the HP discrete commands to no avale. Anyone have any luck?

Curiously, I found no codes that correspond to a POWER OFF discrete code.


Also, I misstated that I have the NS-LCD-32. In fact, it's the NS-LCD-37. Don't know if that makes a difference, but thought I'd post that as a caveat for others.

I have the NS-LCD32-09. The discrete OFF functions 96 and 97 work for me, but the discrete ON function 82 does not work for me.

Is there anything else I might try?

anyone? still have to toggle power and inputs and is impossible to program effective macros when insignia TV is involved.

Here are the discrete codes that I've discovered. These work with my new Insignia NS-39L240A13. I have them programmed into my URC-8910 using a device upgrade from the JP1 tools (keymap master, IR.exe).

Discrete Power Off: OBC 096 - EFC 197
HDMI 1: OBC 162 - EFC 223
HDMI 2: OBC 163 - EFC 227
HDMI 3: OBC 164 - EFC 220
VGA: OBC 078 - EFC 038

I found 3 codes that work as a discrete Component input setting for this TV. The first corresponds to the VIDEO button on the NS-RC03A-13 remote that came with the TV. The other two I discovered while searching for the discrete HDMI codes. I suspect the Video button code is intended as a toggle between multiple component/composite inputs. This TV has only one component input and no composite input, so the Video button works as a discrete component input code.

The HDMI OBC 080 that others have posted corresponds to the HDMI button on the remote for this TV, which toggles between the 3 HDMI inputs.

The TV also has a USB input, and there may be a discrete input code for that, but I don't need it so I stopped looking after I found the 3 HDMI codes. I checked every OBC <= 170. If it exists it's > 170.

I have an NS-32E859A11, and the codes in the long post look the same as ones I have tried from the Global Cache IR Database (7 different code groups, none worked). Anybody know of any other discreet codes for Insignia? All I am looking for is On/Off and the Inputs (e.g. Input HDMI) - the rest I can learn from the remote.

Is your TV, uh, shall we say... cheap?

The first Insignia TVs I saw years ago didn't have discrete commands. The present cheap ones still might not. And I mean might not respond to discrete commands that work with pricier Insignia TVs.
