Programming the Comcast DVR3 (with 5 digit codes) remote to control the RCA RTD315W
Here are the instructions to program the RCA RTD315W
1. Press AUX
2. Pess and hold Setup untill AUX blinks twice
3. Type in 31254
4. AUX should blink twice if it programmed correctly
5. Press AUX
Unlock all volume controls:
1. Press and hold Setup until the selected mode key blinks twice
2. Enter 993 and then press VOL+. The mode key blinks four times
3. Volume controls for all devices are independent.
To lock volume buttons so that they always control the AUX volume:
1. Press AUX
2. Press and hold Setup until AUX blinks twice
3. Type in 993
4. Press AUX (light should flash twice)
Assign DVR3 remote Power button to control AUX.
1.Press the AUX button.
2.Press and hold setup until AUX blinks twice
3.Press 994
4. Press setup
5. Press 64257
6. Press POWER
7. Press AUX button to finish the setup.
Took a bit to find all this...but here it is consolidated.

Where can I learn more ? My comcast dvr3 remote manual doesn't list any of this. I'm new to programming, but very determined. Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction. geol

Wanted to post these for anyone else with this setup
RCA RTD315 Home Theatre with Comcast 1067BX3 (Silver w/red OK button) Remote
Follow these steps (as stated earlier) to add some more functionality to your remote for the setup mentioned above
-Press AUX
-Hold down Setup until AUX blinks twice
-Enter 9-9-4
-Tap Setup again (without holding it down)
-Enter [Code from list below]
-Press the key which you want to assign the function to
*AUX button should blink twice if you did it right
64257 Power On/Off
64258 -8
64259 -9
64261 Mute
64264 -2
64265 -3
64266 -0
64267 -1
64268 -6
64269 -7
64270 -4
64271 -5
64276 Volume Down
64277 Volume Up
64278 Previous
