Wondering if there is a specific descrete hex code for the pronto that would set the integra volume level to a specific level, say -15.0 DB.

No sorry. Only rs232 will do this.

Check in your setup. Some models have any option to go to a specific volume.

This is the Integra DHC-9.9. Do you have any experience with this model or it's predecessor the 9.8?

I have a small amount of knowledge on this unit.

Page 124 of the manual.

Its not exactly what you want but it may help.

Thanks Sydinstaller. So at least I can have a consistant volume when I turn the unit on so background music during "seating" will be at a consistant volume. What I was also trying to do was have a "departure" common volume setting or a "bathroom break" volume that plays music quietly while pausing the movie. I guess I could use the variable Mute settings to do this in a non-elegant fashion unless you have another idea or just force the volume down code multiple time and do the same amount up upon return. Any other ideas?

What would I need to do this via the 232 interface?

If you email me I can send you the 232 codes and IR codes.

You currently should be able to do the following.

Watch a DVD.
During playback you should be able to change the amp to CD. Image should stay from DVD.

So with this info the macro required would be.

Pause DVD
mute amp or send 232 command to preset volume.
select CD input
start CD
enjoy the potty break.

On return.
pause CD
change input back to DVD
Un-mute or re set volume.
Play DVD.

Substitute CD for any other audio only source.
