Ok, I have a device that I cant find any discrete on/off codes for on the net (for use with a Pronto), so I'd like to have a crack at hacking my own.
I've downloaded the utilities recommended for this purpose (IR Tool and ProntoUtil) but the documentiaon included with them tells me nothing about how to actually use the software!
I've also searched the forums and looked for guides in the Remote Central archives but I cant find anything that gives me step by step info on how to go about hacking codes.
If one of you IR gurus here could please give me a brief summary of what I must do to try to find codes, or just point me in the direction of a tutorial, it would be most appreciated.
Thanks very much for your help.

In the file section there is a document that describes the Pronto Hex. That is the best place to start.

I have read that document, but I'm still a little on the lost side! Is there an article anywhere with more specific information about how to use the tools to find codes?
