Look here: [Link: remotecentral.com]Use the "other" IR codes, the "normal" ones don't work. At least they didn't work for me. (I've got the STR-DA5400ES)

Try the inputs for on. Most of the newer Sony receivers turn on when you hit Video1 or other inputs. And this should turn it off:
