Assuming you mean a Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX, have you tried the discrete codes already posted in the discrete section for Pioneer receivers. There is also a file in the ccf section for a VSX-35TX that says it has discrete codes: [Link: remotecentral.com]Assuming it is something else, why not be a little more descriptive you will get a much more intelligent answer. -Jon

I'm trying to program a MX500. I tried the discrete hex code for Pioneer, converting it with IRtool, and no luck. Regarding the ccf file you pointed out, I downloaded it, and decoded it with ccf2efc. I think I found the learned hex code for receiver "on", but IRtools, says it's a zero length code.

tbirdman, I think most people are programming MX-XXX remotes with One For All remotes. The RS-15-2104 is on sale for $20 ending tomorrow. The OFA remotes do discrete codes and solve a lot of problems. I can give you those codes for the OFA remotes but it may take a JP1 cable. Start by going to www.hifi-remote.com for more info. -Jon

Jon, I have an OFA and that is how I've been programming the discrete codes into the MX500. I also have the JP1 cable, but have not figured exactly how to use it. I have been to www.hifi-remote.com, but I am still unclear on the process. I'll go back and try to fugure it out again. Ken
