I was wondering if anyone could help me out here:

I have a 19" Samsung LCD (LN-T1953H) purchased new last year that I intend to use as a bedroom unit.

I will be purchasing a 58" Samsung Plasma (either a PN58A550 or 650) and an H/K AVR 354 to upconvert everything to HDMI) to use in the living room.

Here's what I want to do: instead of getting a second Tivo, AppleTV, etc, I was considering splitting the HDMI and running two cables, one going to the 58" in the living room and one extra long one going to the 19". All the components would live in the living room, and I would have an IR extender in the bedroom to transmit back to the living room.

The one potential bump in the plan is that every time I turn the TV on in the bedroom, it would turn on the TV in the living room - that is if Samsung uses the same IR codes for all of its sets.

Does anyone know if this is the case?

It would also be helpful anyone could let me know if my plan is a good or bad idea...
