Searching for Discrete power codes for Sony STR-DA5300ES (or any Sony ES AVR) for Zone 2 .... I've figured out or found every other discrete code... but this one eludes me. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I have a URC MX-980, so URC or other importable codes would be preferred.

Okay... like most Sony equipment, the input selection also works to power on the Zone control... so I'm just in need of a discrete Power off code.

Anyone??

I've never seen a discrete power for zone 2 on Sony. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist and I deal with them quite infrequently. A workaround of course would be to send the AVR a blank zone 2 input command followed by zone 2 toggle power command.

Thanks tweeterguy. I've done exactly what you've suggested... still hoping for a discrete, but I can live with the work around.

Just in case anyone else is looking. The Hex for a discrete off for zone 2 on a Sony AVR is:

0000 0068 0000 0010 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 02E5

found hex code for the toggle and was able to determine the device code for makehex. A little extrapolation later and I got a working discrete off. the obvious discrete on does not work but that isn't an issue as source selection takes care of that.

Cool...thanks for posting that up. I'm adding that to my list in case I ever run into a Sony with Z2.
