I have some info from krell for power on and power off but I am confused with converting that to pronto hex.
I have this data
On:
System (hex):1c
Command (hex): 38
System (dec): 28
Command (dec): 56
RC5 Word (hex): 3738

Off:
System (hex):1c
Command (hex): 39
System (dec): 28
Command (dec): 57
RC5 Word (hex): 3739

I just don't know how to use this information to make a usable pronto code. If someone could give me a link to an existing post that clearly explains this or explain it I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Joe

Joe,

Try these:

Device Code: 28 Function: 56-On
0000 0073 0000 000B 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0CC4

Device Code: 28 Function: 57-Off
0000 0073 0000 000B 0020 0020 0040 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0CA4

These are created with John Fine's MakeHex using the RC5 protocol.

I tried it and got an entirely different code. If you wouldn't mind, do you think you could explain what numbers go where in the .IRP file??

Thanks,

Joe

Joe,

How about a little more information. You tried what in which system and got a different code detected by what.

Did you try these commands in a Pronto and did they work? Or are you trying to decode the Pronto hex for yet another remote.

Here is the rc5.irp file. I also assume that you understand the coding is bi-phase and has a toggle bit:

Device=28
Function=56..57

Protocol=RC5
Frequency=36000
Time Base=889 '888.89 = 32 cycles at 36Khz
Message Time=113778 '128 times TimeBase of 888.89
Zero=1,-1
One=-1,1
Prefix=1,-1,1 'Officially -1,1,-1,1 but starting with off is silly
First Bit=MSB
Form=;*,T:1,D:5,F:6

Thanks guys, Both sets of codes you sent me worked. I appreciate your help. I was using the program wrong which is why I couldn't get it to work. I haven't used makehex before and I just couldn't figure it out. I will play with it some more. Thanks again,
Joe

Joe,

If you are using a Pronto and they work, the codes that haav posted are the better choice.
