Silly me just a purchased a new sony LCD. Model # KDL-32m4000. Discrete input codes don't function for me. Discrete power and everything else work from the Universal library. But nada for the inputs. If anyone can offer real assistance I would appreciate it.

Here are the models with same remote (and probably the same problem) from the sony website:

# KDL26FA400
# KDL26M4000
# KDL26N4000
# KDL32FA400
# KDL32M4000
# KDL32N4000
# KDL37FA400
# KDL37M4000
# KDL37N4000

Also, for what its worth, these sets no longer offer detachable power cords.

Happy installs...
i wanna go home now

I am in the same boat. I have the new KDL-32M4000 and have been killing myself trying to get the Discrete Input Commands. Logitech is no help, because the KDL-32M4000 is not in their database yet (I have the Harmony 880 remote). They told me to call Sony, but I had no luck on that end. Is there anyone out there who can help us?

Thanks,
Hugh

Here it is...

The M3000 has no discretes and never will.
The M4000s in the wild right now have no discretes. There
will be a running change in late June/Early July where
discretes will be added and when we get our first shipment
that have the discretes I will post again in this thread
and probably start a new one.

The exception is the 19" M4000 on our showroom floor right
now that was built in March of '08 which does respond
to discretes. My guess is that the smaller sets were built
in a different factory that had the discrete codes in
their software and the larger sets were built in a different
factory that didn't have the discretes in their software.

For the record, the discrete ON and OFF DO WORK
but these are the only discretes that do work.

The only workaround I can find is to go into the menu
and turn off "Input Auto Arrange" and go back to the old
CH+, pause, TV/VIDEO, pause, TV/VIDEO and count to the
input you need. I would also go in and turn off the inputs
you're not using to keep the command count down.
There are 10 types of people in this world,
There are those who understand binary,
and those who don't!
