Hi to all, I am after some help please. I have about eight clients who have Humax plasma's and I am trying to generate a code set so I can try to find discrete codes for all inputs.John has helped me in the past with Make Hex and IR panels so I have a bit of a idea, but what I need to know is how to get started,I will have access to a Humax late in the week and will learn some codes into a urc8910 and then upload them into Jp program to see what protocol and device number they are using. I have had a practice run with my Samsung plasma and learnt a couple of codes and uploaded them into the JP1 program and it read Protocol NECX2, Device 7, sub device 7, OBC 2, HEX CMD BF,EFC 183, now how do I set up the IRP file to generate a full code set. I want to have a practice now so i know when I learn the Humax codes how to generate a full code set. I hope you can follow all this and thank you for any help what so ever. Cheers Mick

For that practice run:
You use NECx2.irp
You set the device to 7.7 (which I think is the default value already there in the .irp file).
You run MakeHex in the usual way.
You use the OBC number from JP1 as the function number to select which Pronto hex string to copy from the NECx2.hex file (or which button to use in the CCF file created by IrPanels).
You ignore the JP1 HEX CMD and EFC. They have no meaning for Pronto Hex.

For the real thing, you'll need to see what you get. Mostly it works just as I described above. The decoded protocol name is usually the .irp file name. The decoded device number is usually either the whole makehex device number or the first part of the makehex device number. The decoded subdevice number is usually blank. If it isn't blank you usually put a dot between the device and subdevice numbers to form the makehex device number. The OBC number is almost always the makehex function number. The JP1 hex and EFC never mean anything in Pronto Hex.

Thanks again John for your help, I am not sure on one thing though as it has been a long time since you helped me before, if I learn a code, say on-off or volume and upload it into the JP1 program to find out the info for Make Hex,will just the info from one learned command be able to generate a full code set for the Humax I am after or any other codes I am looking for. That is all I really need to know Thank you, These Humax codes for there Plasmas have been giving me heaps of grief as the way there remotes are set up does not allow for any decent workaround when programming a remote so fingers crossed I might find the discretes for them. Thanks again, cheers Mick

Hi Again John, I have just got hold of a Humax remote and I learnt just the volume and channel up/down buttons and uploaded them to JP1 IR program and this is what I got. PROTOCOL-NEC1,DEVICE-0, SUB DEVICE- 128,OBC-64. If you can lead me in the right direction to create a code set with Make Hex and have a look at my other question above this one I will leave you alone and should be able to work it out in the future myself. Thank you so much again for your help as it helps me out heaps.
