Hello, I bought a new TV and was working with 3 remotes (TV, cable, receiver) when I decided I would try to get the Comcast DVR remote to control all 3. I had no problem getting it to control the TV but I'm having trouble with the auxiliary device (receiver). The remote controls the power function of the receiver but I can't get it it to control the volume. Initially, after programming the TV, the volume buttons by default controlled the TV. I attempted to do the 993 volume lock on the receiver but then the volume buttons by default didn't work for anything. I assume they locked to the receiver but won't work to control its volume for some reason.

I then found some online instructions about key moves using 994. I tried that and now the volume buttons control the cable box's volume (which I didn't realize existed). Does anyone know of a way to get the volume buttons (and mute) to work with my receiver (RCA brand)? Thanks for any help. I'm a complete novice.

Its possible you are using the wrong receiver code. sometimes when i set the cable remotes to work tv power and volume, a code i try will work the power and not volume.

I'm using 1254. I also tried 1023 but it doesn't work at all. Any other codes?

Edit: Got it to work. I wasn't using the key move function correctly. Thanks for the help!
