Sony's new HDTV receiver (HD200) gives the owner the ability to give the remote an ID number of 50 or 51. This is beneficial if you have 2 Sony DSS receivers and don't want a conflict. The discrete Power On and Off posted in the discrete code section work fine for ID number 50.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the discrete power on and off to work with ID 51???

I assume you have a Pronto, so learn the power toggle command for ID51, post the pronto hex for that command here. I am fairly certain I can generate the discrete commands (or any other commands for that matter) for that alternate device code once I see what it is.

BTW, how do you like the HD200. Does it have discrete commands for:

HD and RD
Aspect ratios
SAT and OTA (IIRC it has a Tuner for OTA Broadcast HDTV)

If it does could you post them as well.

The HD200 is 300% better and more stable than the HD100. Have it only a few days, but great receiver.

They use toggles to switch between HD & SD, as well as Aspect ratios. I just need a discrete off code, if you can figure it out.

Here's the hex for the toggle Power for Code 51. I'll await your results.

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

Here ya go:

Device Code: 23.133 Function: 46 On
0000 0068 0000 0015 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 01DE

Device Code: 23.133 Function: 47 Off
0000 0068 0000 0015 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 01C6

If you want to try to find other discrete commands I can easily generate all 128 commands for you.

BTW, its Sony 20-bit device 23.133

That is fantastic. It works great. Thanks so much. You may want to post it in the discrete code section, as more users may have need for these codes.

I probably, down the line, will have need for some of the other discretes, particularly the ones that toggle, but can't, right now think of which ones. How do you do it?

I have one that I've unsucessfully been searching for. I need a discrete power off for a Pioneer DVD Recorder. (DVR-7000). No one has responded maybe you have the magic touch. Here's the hex on the Power toggle. Let me know.

Thanks much,
Ron

For ID51 the Sony reponds to a 13-bit device code considered to consist of a 5-bit device and 8-bit sub-device code expressed as 23.133. All regular Sony protocols use 7-bit commands and that means 128 commands for each device code. So I can generate commands 0 through 127 in Pronto hex using John Fines MakeHex for device=23.133 and you can test them out.

If you recall I looked at the DVR-7000 and I created the commands that I believe would be the discrete power commands if they had them and it didn't work. The only other way would be to test out all possibilities of two consecutive, different 32-bit commands that would be 64 total bits. That would be 2 to the 64th power possibilities.

Let me know if you want all the commands for the Sony.

Yes, I would like all the commands for the Sony. That would be much appreciated.

Too bad about the Pioneer. It was nice to have, but if it can't be figured out, that's OK too.

Thanks,
Ron

Jon,

Thanks also from me....I had the exact same issue......so far the SAT-HD200 works pretty well (only Day 3)....I too may have some further discrete requests.

Thanks,

Mark

Discretes for output select do not exist. Unfortunately, toggling is your only option.

Can someone with an MX-700 and a Pronto post an MX-700 device file that has the HD200 discrete codes listed above? I'm particularly interested in Power On/Off. Alternatively, are there OFA remote equivalents (device # and discrete code) for these?

Thanks,

Kit

Kit,

Are you looking for the ID50 or ID51 codes. Read the explanation in the top post. If it is ID50 then the OFA setup code is SAT_0639
EFC 113=On
EFC 109=Off

If you do want ID51 then you will need a JP1 cable and then do a device upgrade using Sony20 protocol device=23.133 and use the same EFC's listed above.

Jon,

Since I only have a single Sony Satellite receiver, it looks like I can use ID50 and the discrete codes that you provided. My mistake - I missed that the first time around.

Thanks,

Kit
