Hi;

I just located Denon 3806 IR Hex Codes and was wondering if anyone knows how to convert them to use iwth the Pronto NG remote. Thanks.

There are numurous discussion threads on this subject many from when I was learning the process. Do a forum search for the key words and then get back to me if you have any specific questions.

I just answered almost exactly the same question (but for the 3808)

Longer ago, I answered (in those threads tgrugett mentioned) with similar information.

I probably answer such things too many times, vs. just telling people to do a few forum searches.

For your next question, hopefully you've figured out that a forum search is faster than posting a new request and waiting for an answer.

Thank you very much for the link. It seems complicated but i am sure I will figure it out!

It is pretty easy once you can decifer a couple of details.

There are two basic protocols used...

Sharp and Kaseikyo

The code documentation you downloaded is in a binary form so you must convert portions of the code information to decimal number to extract a device number (code group within the protocol) and the function number within that group representing the specific code.

Once you have that information (process described in many threads here) you can use John's MakeHex application (downloadable from this site and others) to generate a list of the codes for a particular device number. You do not have to generate the codes yourself; just decifer the key information... John has generously done the rest.

MakeHex from RemoteCentral is far too obsolete for Denon-K protocol.
Current version of MakeHex is only at
