This one is driving me nuts! My previous UR5U-8400A remote wore out, and I traded it in on a new one at my cable company. Of course, I foolishly neglected to record the "TV" function code before trading in the remote, figuring (a) I'd written it down somewhere, or (b) I'd just use the auto search function to gain control of the Magnavox tv/dvd/vcr combo. Well, the thing has completely defeated me. I've manually entered all known discrete code suggestions from the remote manual as well as Internet suggestions for all possible permutations of Magnavox/Philips tv, combo, vcr, dvd, etc., and I've used auto search until I'm blue in the face (or at least blue in the thumb), and absolutely nothing has worked. Ordinarily, I'd admit defeat and assume that the UR5U-8400A can't control the Magnavox triple combo, except that I did it before (after some fairly long searching, as I recall). I really don't want to purchase another remote, and I know it shouldn't be necessary, but I've had no luck at all thus far.

Has anybody out there in cyber-land succeeded in getting a UR5U-8400A to control a Magnavox triple combo? If so, could you PLEASE tell me which code worked for you?

It turned out the replacement UR5U-8400A was defective--wouldn't produce some codes, but would produce others. The code to control the Magnavox triple combo turned out to be 211.
