the guys who design products must have some say on how there rc codes are like they are and why arent manufactures more open or receptive to to outside questions on there rc codes

the answer is just to piss us off. Also they tend to sell parts for a lot of $$$ have you ever bought. Ask them for an OEM remote, and it costs half the price of the TV it came with.
