I am trying to find the classic pronto hex for discrete inputs for a Magnavox 32MD357B/37 LCD TV.

In an ancient post (circa 2004), jarmstrong wrote:

On Philips/Magnavox discrete input commands are the discrete on commands for Philips/Magnavox VCR's, DSS, and DVD.

So you will need to key move the following to some key on your TV:

VCR/0081 EFC 018
DVD/0539 EFC 187
SAT/1076 EFC 187

TV/0054 EFC 018 will take you to the TV Tuner, usually Ch+/- will also take you to the tuner.

Some may not work, but you can use a macro for Ch+|video toggle for video 1, Ch+|video toggle|video toggle for video 2 etc.
. . .

I am comfortable running MakeHex to generate hex codes if I know the device and function codes I am looking for.

I presume the EFC values above (018 and 187) are the function codes for MakeHex.

I don't know how to translate the universal remote setup codes above (at least that what I assume they are) into device codes for MakeHex.

What .irp file and what device code do I use for, e.g., VCR/0081, DVD/0539, SAT/1076, and TV/0054?

Thanks!

For anyone reading just this thread, the answer to the above is "no".

EFC values are NOT the function codes for MakeHex.

OBC values are the function codes for MakeHex.

An EFC number is a stupid encription of the internal number an OFA remote uses to indicate a specific function within a setup code. In most protocols, that internal number is a simple encoding of the OBC number (so the EFC number equals an encription of the OBC number). But for RC5 it is a bit more complicated and indirect. So EFC numbers are not a practical form for representing RC5 signals outside the context of a specific OFA built-in setup code.
