Forgive me, if this is in the wrong section.
I am at my wits end.
I bought an Emerson 32" LCD TV (Model LC320EM81).
Had Direct TV come out and install all new Satalitte/Receiver/Wirring.
The Tech went through all the "Emerson Codes" in the book so we can control the TV On/Off with our new Direct TV Remote. None of those codes worked.

We called Emerson and they said out TV may be too new for Direct TV to have a code.

They suggested MANUALLY trying each one of the codes of the brands:
Emerson
Symphonic
Funai
Magnavox
Sylvania
Symphonic

So 78 Codes and 2 hours later (I tried it 2X).
My Direct Remote still DOES NOT turn my Emerson TV On/Off.

Does anyone else here in the same situation, that they would have the 5 Digit Code I need!!??

I have the same TV LC320EM8 and direct tv was able to get their remote to control the channels and menu but not the on/off or the volume. That's why I'm here...Edmund...can you advise if there is a direct tv code for this tv?

I just bought the same TV, well mine is actually a LC320EMX, but even now it's 2 years later and Direct TV still does not have a code for it. Have you been able to find one?? Please help,

Well, over at the JP1 site, www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php, there is an upgrade file for a Emerson LC320EM8A_81.    It's probably a good match for your TV.  The TV uses NEC1 protocol, with device 132, subdevice 224.  Using the Lookup Tool available at the JP1 site, we can see that there are only three remotes (of those made by UEI-- probably your DirecTV remote is made by them) which carry this particular protocol/device/subdevice configuration.

They are the URC-10820N  (~$35 internet), URC-8820N (~$25 internet), and the RCA RCRP05B  ($20 at BestBuy, and other stores).  The code is TV 1864.  

All 3 of these remotes carry Cable 1377, which is (I think) the code necessary to control the DirecTV box.

The RCRP05B is a close match in button layout to the RC23/32/64 remotes.

So if I were in your situation, I'd spend $20, and not wait for DirecTV to implement this relatively rare protocol.  Do you have other components to control?  It may be worthwhile to see if a replacement remote can control everything. 


 

I know this thread is old but i got my direcTV remote to program to my Emerson lc320EM81 32" tv. The DirecTV remote model is RC65RX and the code that worked is 11864. All functions of the TV work with this remote. I know i spent for damn ever trying to get this to work. The auto detect that the dvr receiver uses did not work for me.
