I have been looking for discrets for the Panasonic projector
PT-AE900U for some time. I tried pasting the two above
for a custom code as usual. Unfortunately, they did not
work.

I guess that means they don't work in your model of Panasonic.

When verifying the code it appeared to have changed
in the Proto edit software.

That is normal behavior and doesn't affect the signal sent by the Pronto.

When experimenting I noticed
that after pasting the code it was OK but when clicking
OK to save it changed.

By "OK", I assume you just mean that the paste operation didn't change the copied text.

When you save it, ProntoEditNG translates it to an internal form. If you view it later ProntoEditNG translates it back. Most values in Pronto Hex are subject to rounding and other adjustments during such translation. But normally none of that affects the signal that the Pronto will finally send.

I just received this a few hours ago from Panasonic:

The following are the IR codes for AE700;AE900;PTAX100
[Function Code]
Power : 3D
Video : 03
RGB : 06
Input : 6D
Autosetup : 01
Freeze : 02
Vol+ : 20
Vol- : 21
Shutter : 91
STD : 3B
Index : 07
D. Zoom+ : 04
D. Zoom- : 05
MENU : 7A
ENTER : 72
FUNC1 : 09
(direction) up : 5A
(direction) down : 5B
(direction) left : 5C
(direction) right : 5D

Now, can anyone tell me how to enter these into RTI (RTI newbie here)? (no, I don't yet have the IR capture device; just started a HT business).

Thanks in advance!

I checked several of those against the CCF file for the PT-AE300 that I mentioned earlier in this thread. Each one that I checked matched.

I'm sure there is some way to import from Pronto Hex. Maybe you need help from RTI customer support.

Earlier in this thread I gave the panasonic2.irp file that you can use with MakeHex to generate all 256 functions. See the readme in makehex for instructions for getting the function labels in hex in the makehex output. That will make it easier to use what you just got from Panasonic to select the functions you want from the makehex output.

Assuming that the hex numbers are function numbers generate a complete list of codes using the protocol and device number indicated by John and pick these codes from the generaed list. You can easily cut-copy into the RTI IR library
