This might be as stupid question, considering that I am looking for a Philips Descrete code on a Philips Pronto, but is there a descrete 'power off' code for their TVs?

Jon,
It is not a stupid question. These are short because the Pronto hasd built in support for these Philips RC5 protocols. These are the standard codes for most Philips/Magnavox TV's
Off
5000 0073 0000 0001 0000 003D
On
5000 0073 0000 0001 0000 003F
