for Bose Livestyle48:
who knows a single IR-code for Vol+ and a single IR-code for Vol-
which affects all Bose-rooms (or just Room A and Room B)
or
which affects all rooms in Zone 1 or Zone 2 ???

It does not exist.

It would be a crazy code to have unless you have some sort of unusual application.

I have a big room with all the 5.1 speakers of the Livestyle 48 system installed and in addition two jewel cubes for a second left and right speaker. I just used the electronic hardware of a RoomMate System as an interface beetween the Bose Link and the two additional jewel cubes.
Therefore it would be best to have a single code for Vol+/- to control the whole room (Bose room A+B).
At this time i programmed the code for Vol+/- in room A and in addition Vol+/- for room B to a single key of my ProntoProNG.
But after some time the volume will run out of synch.

Does anyone has a better idea to solve my problem ???

I am somewhat unclear on how you interfaced the additional speakers.

If you are using a Boselink system, you can easily assign additional room configurations to room A depending on your interface method. Since Room A volume control is variable you should have global volume control.

Again, you need to be real specific about your configuration. What exactly do you have? How exactly do you have it hooked up?

1. a standard lifestyle 48 system with 5.1 speakers.
2. from a RoomMate system i just used the internal electronic.
This electronic has a Bose-Link input and an output for two speakers. Now i connected the LS48-Bose-Link output to the Bose-Link input of the RoomMate electronic (just the electronic of a RoomMate! I put it in an extra box). The speaker output i connected to two new jewel cube speakers (the RoomMate speakers are terrible). The complete room now consists of the 5.1 speakers from LS48 and the additional two jewel cube speakers (just for left and right) driven by the RoomMate electronic. Room code for the RoomMate electronic is currently Room "B".

an additional info:
I tried to set the switches to Room code "A" at the RoomMate eletronic (which is not documented in the RoomMate Manual).
In this config the RoomMate electronic will not switch on !!!

I do not think I have tried to drive a roomate speaker with room A so i do not know if there is an issue there that I am unaware of.

Are you using a Boselink A cable or a Boselink B cable to connect the 48 to the roommate?

I will review the pin settings and get back to you with any ideas.

.....those two extra jewel cubes can't sound very good driven by the roomate amp can it?

I use BoseLink cable "B" which was part of the RoomMate box.
In the LS48 system menu - "audio" - "expansion protocol" is set to "Bose link" not "Legacy".
These two extra jewel cubes sounds very well with the RoomMate amplifiers (as an add-on to the LS48 speakers). The original RoomMate speakers are terrible.
Some more info to the application:
The room is 12m by 3m and also used as a home cinema. The height of the ceiling varies from 3m to 5m to 4m. In the middle there is the screen (from wall to wall) for the projector. The LS48 left, right and center speakers are on the upper side of the screen. The surround speakers are in back. These two extra jewel cubes are on the lower side of the screen but 3m behind the screen. The extra cubes will direct there sound only to the walls (only indirect). The synch of the loudness between the main speakers and extra speakers must be fine tuned to give the right effect. If everything is ok it will give you a spectacular sound while playing movies.
Now if the difference of loudness between the main speakers and the extra speakers is'nt ok, the sound is poor. Therefore it is so important to me to have a single Vol+/Vol- IR-code for main and extra speakers.

Pin/Color/Main Output/Boselink Output
1/Yellow/SPDIF 0/Variable audio left stream 2
2/Black-Yellow/SPDIF 1/Variable audio right stream 2
/Yellow-Red drains/Ground (SPDIF, +10V drains)/Ground (red, yellow drains)
/Red/Ground/Audio reference ground
3/White/Fixed audio left zone 1/Fixed audio left stream 2
4/Black-White/Fixed audio right zone 1/Fixed audio right stream 2
/White-Green drains/Ground (white, green drains)/Ground (white, green drains)
9/Green/NA/Fixed left stream 1
5/Black-Green/Ground/Fixed right stream 1
6/Black-Red/10V turn on/10V turn on
7/Black-Blue/Speaker data/Speaker data
8/Blue-Blue drain/Ground (spkr data, blue drain)/Ground (spkr data, blue drain)

Unfortunately you will not be able to do this.

Above is the 9pin layout (with bose source plate terminal colors) and as you may observe, audio stream 1 is only available as a fixed output on the Boselink output. I had thought that you could simply pick up the analog stream 1 variable pins but I had forgotten that they do not exist. You still can pick up the fixed stream 1 pins but you will not have linked volume control.

Sorry...
