Hello:
I am trying to find discrete input codes for my Pioneer PDP-5016HD plasma.

I have tried every code available, but I can only get as far as discrete power.

I have an MX 850 remote.

Thank you very much,

Travis

I have been there - they don't have this model listed.

I have tried discrete inputs for other models - none of them work.

Am I out of luck for discrete input control?

Thank you,

Travis

I am not saying that it is not possible, but most Pioneer sets use the same codes.

How are you utilizing the codes from the Pioneer site? I have never downloaded any of the URC ready files from their site but I have downloaded the Pronto file and used them very succesfully.

I would be hard pressed to belive that you can not find discrete Pioneer codes for your set.

i'm not familiar with the particular pioneer model you are refering to or the URC software, but as you can see in my sig, i have a few pioneer components. my experience would have me believe they have about the most comprehensive data base of discrete commands out there... my AV reciever has a discrete code for literally every DSP mode it has!

i also downloaded the files in the pronto format, then copied the hex codes to my Nevo software. i can only assume URC has the same ability. (in fact my nevo software allows to simply convert the files, saving alot of cutting and pasting).

as mentioned above i'm not saying you are wrong by any means, as my pioneer DVD recorder has very few discrete commands, and the on/off discretes provided dont work. so quite possibly you need a pioneer "elite" component to get all the discretes?

Update:
I talked with Pioneer today and they stated that it is a limited distribution model - no discrete input commands exist.

SO:
don't take for granted that discrete commands will exist as I did.
I am not saying I am unhappy with my display; I am unhappy that Pioneer would do something so dumb.

I have never purchased a Pioneer product that I could not find discrete for.... until today.

All you have to say is "I got it at Costco" and we may have clued in :)

I admittedly did not pay much attention to the actual model number. I have run accross one of these sets before. It sort of looked like a Pioneer (silver) and it did have the logo but the features were stripped down to little or nothing.

I have seen more than one manufacturer put out a run of contract sets for Costco with little but the logo. I always assumed that the manufacturer contracted out the contract to another manufacturer and just slapped their name on it.

Whenever I am shopped by a customer against Costco I always tell them to look up the model number on the manufacturers web site. If the number does not come up, they are comparing apples to oranges and are not necessarily getting the set they think they are getting.

Learn several codes from the native remote and post them. i will take a look at the possibilities from there.

I sell and install Pioneer. This TV was originally sold at Costco, and the given away for "free" when you bought a PRO-FHD1 through independent retailers. We installed this TV and quickly discovered no discrete input codes, however we did find discrete power codes.

Hello.

Used your link re the Pioneer Discrete codes.....brilliant.

Now what do I do with them????
How can I turn them to a Hex code to import into other applications??

Using Speakercraft software at moment.

Ideally want to get it into Harmony 1000

Is this link still active? When I go there it redirects me to a generic Pioneer USA site

And I can't see where any IR Codes are.

Thanks for any pointers.

On the page click on Support and then on the supportpage on the right side click on Custom Install and you get the page with the codes.
