Does anyone have or know what the discrete on/off video input codes are for the NEC dreamvision plasma?

Since I posted the NEC Plasm codes before I ran across a few more. If I understand correctly, there are 3 variations of the NEC Plasma displays and each may respond to some or all of these commands. I do not have the hardware but I know someone on one of the OFA groups verified that at least some of these commands worked. The first command is a discrete On command in certain models. If you have a Pronto ore something that can use Pronto hex then a MakeHex can genrate hex from these commands. OBC is the true command code in decimal. EFC is the OFA Advanced Code.

If you need discrete codes for Dreamvision plasmas, you are using the incorrect inputs. We are the #1 Dreamvision plasma dealer in US and know them very well.

You should be using a 15 pin input connection only from the Optimizer scaler. All inputs should then go throu the Optimizer with an interlaced DVD player only. With progressive scan players you can only get 480 lines, and with 765 horiz. lines available on 50" and 61" you are robbing yourselves 50% of the available resolution.

You set the power funtion to auto in plasma and it will turn off/on with scaler.

Also, you do no switching at the plasma.

NEC gives out what they call "discrete codes" which are actually RS-232 codes which are worthless.

Contact us by e-mail if we can be of any further help.
