I have a Marantz RC5000i and a Sony Wega (KV-36FS17). After my trying to learn and relearn the IR, the TV will not power on unless I hold the "on" button for about one second. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks...

What happens when you use the OEM remote? Does that still work correctly?

Are you looking to get a discrete On command for the Sony or just fix the On/Off Toggle?

The OEM remote appears to be more reliable in that a quick tap of the "power" button starts it right up. I have not had the same success with my Marantz. I have to hold it down. But I will need a discrete also, once I fix this issue...

Why not just try the discrete commands for Sony TV (all Sony TV's use the same hex code)here at remote central. Pasting in the discrete commands bypasses the variables of learning.

The learned command may not be working well may for a variety of reasons. The first rule is put new batteries in the OEM remote (even if you just got it and it works with the TV, the original batteries may be bad from the factory.)
