I’ve got a question regarding the discrete codes for the Sony STR-DE995 receiver. The question is how do I access the discrete codes? I am using an MX 950 remote. If I go into the IRDB Navigator in the software and pull up the STR-DE995 there are only toggle power codes listed, yet I have read in these forums that there are discrete codes for that receiver.

One of the things I’ve learned from reading the history in the posts is that at one point it was necessary to change the receiver and the original remote from the default AV2 setting to AV1. I did that, and after I did that I lost the ability to control the receiver with the MX-950. I concluded that the codes listed in the code database must be based on the AV2 settings.

I think I may be close to cracking the case, but I fear I don’t have enough information to continue. I would appreciate anyone being able to help me out. Do I need to learn the codes from the original remote with the receiver set to AV1? Does that even make sense?

Most Sonys turn on with an input command, like Video 1.

Discrete off should be on the big red button.

I've never changed Sony codes and have not had discrete issues yet.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Thanks for the reply. I have it working using an input for the on and an input with a toggle macro for the off. Using a combo of nested macros, and variables I think I have everything working the way I want them to.
