Another strange thing is about the Trutech remote is that we have 2 identical of the model 12000-D 21" tube type with built in DVD and even though identical, the remote for one will not operate the other.

For my true tech LCD I used a Memorex code and that worked. I found it by looking up duraband in a very complete code book I had, found that durband and memorex shared some codes in that book, then went back the book for the remote that had memorex (but not durband) and used that code.

Thanks to all of you for your assistance in helping me program my remote. I have Direct TV and they have no codes listed for Trutech TVs. I have a Trutech LCD TV + DVD, Model PVS3117051. The Direct TV receiver is Model No. D11. I spent 2 hours on the phone to Direct TV and trying their code search process (nothing worked). I found this website and your great suggestions and Memorex 10178 worked!! Thank you very much!!

I bought a Phillips universal remote (silver one, controls tv's, dvd's, vcr's and combos) -- and finally called Phillips after doing the code search manually -- and Phillips said "we know that they have quality control problems, and often change chips in mid-manufacture of a model, if you have tried the codes we have printed, and tried the manual step through - our experience is that the buttons will not control what they say, so for example the on-of might change the channel, or the FF on the DVD could move the volume up, but the stop button will move it down. You're best bet is to try to get a second remote from TruTech. But I'll warn you, I don't think you will have much luck because of the way they change chips, you'll need the serial number so they can pin-point the chip used on that model."

ABANDON ALL HOPE YE WHO ENTER HERE!

Mine was a present from some people I helped out for a bit - and when my 1985 Sony finally bit the dust, they thoughtfully replaced it with a Truetech 2000T.

beggars can't be choosers I guess. and sometimes it IS better to look a gift horse in the mouth!

My father in law passed down a Trutech LCD TV to us. The remote was in the car on the way back, but never saw it after that, not hard to figure out who lost it (hold on to your remotes guys!!). I will try the pushing the Philips Universal remote button 300 times to see if it will link up. The Philips Learning remote is handy/easy but you’ll need the original for programming.
