I am trying to program a switch controlled remote device for my disabled daughter to be able to scan the channels on her Trutech television. However I can't find the TV remote codes anywhere. Please, can anyone assist us? Thanks in advance! Sincerely, Liz Dutzy (mom to Kalair 6.7 yrs w/SMA type one) [Link: ourSMAangels.com]

Hi SMAmom,

I don't know about the codes, but I've been searching for some info on TruTech TV's, as my son just bought one. I did find out that TruTech TVs are made by Dae-Woo, and made in China. Maybe if you contacted them, you could get the codes.

I assume you both have the original remote for the TV. What kind of universal remote do you have? That apparently can use "codes" in some PC transferable form, but can't learn from the original remote?

I you have any learned codes in any form that can be uploaded to a PC, I probably can help you figure out missing signals and/or translate those signals to some other form.

Do you have any specs on that "switch controlled remote device" that might explain what form of codes it needs?

I hope you were already able to program your remote, but if not, I was able to program mine by using the Dae Woo codes. Best Wishes to you and your daughter.

Thank you for everyone's responses. I was able to program her remote using the Dae woo codes, but now her grandma's bought her a different TV because that one didn't have a VCR, lol. I haven't even tried to program the new one yet, so I may be back! ;-) Thanks again, from me and my little princess...

Trutech TV support is at www.alcosupport.com - read the manual guys.
However, the Daewoo codes did NOT work on my model PLV1615T bought at Target. So am waiting for response from their support website.

Have you heard anything back? I've just sent them an email as well because the Daewoo codes are not working for the 32' I just purchased. Please let me know! Thanks.

I am also looking for the TruTech remote code for my DirectTv sony receiver remote. I've emailed the support team and will post what I get back. The Daewoo codes in my manual don't work.

Thanks for posting the web site of the company providing support.

I have spent hours on hold and sent 2 emails. No person. No response. They obviously don't know how to do business. I am returning my TV to Target - not interested in dealing with these people. Good luck with the codes everybody.

We finally heard from customer service. There are no compatible codes for the Trutech 15" model I have. I think the model number is 1615.

I got NEW information from somewhere in internet, it confirm my fact checker. Anyone who brought TV TRUTECH from Target. Trutech sub contract with another company, Funai to make the TV for Target. I found it, the code, in Funai not Trutech on Univeral Remote Phillips. [shame on Target for not disclourse!!!!]

Also Trutech is under Daewoo. Too many subcontracts and sub-vendors!!!!!!! I think it should make a federal law to explain who make what and require to provide remote control number label on the TV [in back of TV] and manual if someone lost the remote control!!!

GEE, took me hours to find the solution for my remote control on internet.

I too was having the same problems. I have a Time Warner Cable Digital cable box and remote...I think made my american scientific or something like that. I tried the Dae woo codes and the Funai codes to no avail. Then I noticed taht many of the codes were similair for many brands...Sony might have 4 codes that are all 1 numebr off etc.

So I tried a few codes one number higher or lower than the DaeWoo and Funai codes and found one that worked. These trutech TV's from traget are related to many other companies like DaeWoo and Funai, but also Venturer, kawasaki, Durabrand, Trutech (of course), ILO, lectron and audiovox. many of these brands were listed on my cable universal remote guide, however the code that worked wasn't listed under ANY of these. The more I dug to write this reply the more I relized I got really freaking lucky! Happy hunting...perhaps this will help somebody out there! FYI if you have Time Warner and got the 19 inchech TruTech LCD HD tv w/ DVD player from target..the code that worked for me with my remote was 0192!

Good Luck

T
