I was thinking about getting one, not as a dvd player but to play my Kodak Photo CDs. I know that most DVD players turn on when play was sent, but was just wondering if it had discretes. Thanks for your help.

you'd be hard up trying to find a remote
that would say bo to it, let alone be
discrete.

Well "remote god", in your 10 year's
experience, you should know that you
hardly ever get discrete codes off of
the original remote. With the apex dvd
player, that's where the problem exists.
They have different codes for different
models. So universal remotes, hardly
ever control them, totally.

Minus the sarcasm, that was all common knowledge. Where do you think this website started with discrete codes...??? All I was asking was if the APEX DVD players have discrete power commands. A simple yes or no would have done. Plus, you are guessing that I am looking for a pre-programmed remote control. I have a Pronto, just for your information.

You replied "you'd be hard up trying to find a remote

discrete." Is that a complete sentence? I don't consider myself an "english" god, but damn is that eubonics?

Edmund's a little cranky, you should try asking him how to distribute 2 different sat receivers through a house. Don't blame him for his eubonics, it's his webtv's fault. He's like "Switchy"....always assumes he's superior, and giving advice to an idiot.

My first post was badly worded play on
words. But you got gist of my jest.
Did sarcasm creep in when I felt I
had to state the obvious, yes. Did
Blanco's last post explain the reason
for me being attacked, yes. And the
reason for me not just stating no,
I don't be believe I know everything.
Did I expect someone to follow with
a suggestion, yes. now no.
