I am curious how people are finding the discrete codes for devices. To try to get codes for a Samsung HDTV I called Samsung and the techs told me that they do not have that information and I would need to contact the Hong Kong office (for which they could not provide the contact info!). Is this how other people are finding the codes or are they in some document somewhere? I have used codes posted on the forums, How are people figuring out these codes???

Some remotes out there (like the Denon Aktis or Sony RM-2100/3000) include some discretes that the manufacturer includes factory set. Some manufacturers have provided this site with discretes, some users have created discreted having an understanding of hex codes. (every brand has it's own ttpe of hex that can be related to other products, etc.)
