Today I bought a GE universal remote because I was tired of keeping up with multiple remotes. The problem is I made sure it would work for my TV before I bought it but I wasn't smart enough to check the DVD/VCR. I have tried the code search but the codes that it did pick up did not work properly. I was wondering if anyone could help me find the universal remote code for a Trutech DVD/VCR combo. Thanks in advance for any help.

Trutech TV support is at www.alcosupport.com - read the manual guys. However, the Daewoo codes did NOT work on my model PLV1615T bought at Target. So am waiting for response from their support website. Someone posted five digit codes also and my Comcast remote unit only uses 4 digit codes. Try a direct email at the alco website to tech support to wake them up - they should explain which manufacturer codes they use for the remote in the manual, but they don't. Or, complain to Target, who sells them, like I will.

I am trying to find these codes myself, I have a DRT-S810. This is what I have so far: 1) It is manufactured by Daewoo and sold in Target stores under the trutech brand in the U.S. 2) It is available in Central America under the Daewoo brand. 3) I can search for a code with my universal and get it to power up, power down, change sources (AV Front, AV Rear, etc.) It does not allow me to enter the menu, or control the VCR portion.
The Alcosupport site is a joke, they are less help than just figuring it yourself. It you ask them, there are no codes for it. Obviously not the case, as I have half of it working.
Can ANYONE help?
THanks

Does it have a "blink back" operation that can be used after a code search to tell you which setup code you found? If so, which was it. Depending on the universal brand and setup code, knowing a setup code in which some functions work may give me or other experts here enough info to tell how to make the rest of the functions work.

Thank you for responding! Radio Shack 6-in-1 m/n 15-2146 with voice easy setup. As far as a blink back feature, I am not sure, I will have to look into it.

Hi JUNK4VJ, were you able to find the code for this one yet? I have the comcast too and nothing has been working so far. Your reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks On December 20, 2006 at 17:58, JUNK4VJ said...

Radio Shack 15-2146 Voice Prompt remote control works Code 1056. However you have to figure out which buttons do what. But you do have access to all functions Menu will change from vhs to dvd.

Help Please! I just bought the same model and I cannot figure out where to get the manual. I've been googling for about 1 hour. It has not been at any of the websites suggested thus far. Sorry that I am interrupting your discussion, help if you can.

Are you referring to the trutech dvd/vcr. If so, you might check Daewoo UK, they have a very similiar system with the manual online. Hope this helps. I also noticed that Target has brought out a new system like the above...it doesn''t look as sturdy, but maybe the manual is the same.

Just found out that the Comcast remote does work. It has the same code as the Radio Shack Prompt. I think that they must be made by the same people because all the features work.

Hi, I had the same problem you described regarding the Remote Control for a Trutech DVD/VCR Model # DRT-S810. After trying several "universal" R/Cs I ended ordering the original one from Daewoo Electronics America @ 1-888-6TRUTECH. I've just got it today and works perfect. I paid for it $6.00 + S & H. I didn't ask, but I bet they have the User Manual as well. Good luck
